Baja Cantina

Baja Cantina has been on the Cabo San Lucas marina since 1991, which is a long time in a town that reinvents itself every few years. It sits on the boardwalk by Dock M, facing the big yachts and the sportfishing boats, about an eight-minute walk from Villa 1. The room is an open palapa-style space with table swings, and the bar is busy from morning to night.

Breakfast starts at 7 AM, lunch at 11 AM and dinner at 5 PM. Reviewers in 2026 order the fish tacos (one called it their new favorite in Cabo), calamari, an ahi tuna sandwich, sea bass, Baja tacos, ceviche and guacamole, with curricanes (a house cocktail) to drink. Its listing describes it as home to Bisbee's Black & Blue billfish tournament, so expect the dock to be packed with fishing crews during tournament week in October.

The good: location, friendly long-serving staff, live acoustic music, and a menu that works for everyone. The not so good: at peak times service slows, and a few reviewers found drinks weak or food cold. Go at breakfast or mid-afternoon when it's calmer, or for sunset drinks when the fleet comes in. Walk-ins are welcome, with reservations available through their website.

Coming off a fishing charter? This is the natural place for a post-trip beer. From the villa, follow the marina boardwalk west past Puerto Paraíso and look for Dock M. Hours listed by TripAdvisor end at 10 PM, while Google shows 11 PM, so for a late dinner call ahead. According to its website it also arranges private boat charters, if you want to keep the day going on the water.
