Spring break is Cabo's loudest season, and a spring break villa in Cabo on Médano Beach puts you right beside it. That can be exactly what you want, or a surprise if you didn't plan for it. Villa 1 sleeps eight, has a private pool and hot tub, and sits at the calmer marina end of Médano. Families and adult groups get very different spring breaks here, so each has its own section below.
Spring break dates in Cabo for 2027
US college and school spring breaks cluster in the first three weeks of March, with the busiest days on Médano and downtown usually mid-March. In 2027 Easter Sunday is March 28, so Semana Santa (Holy Week), when Mexican families fill the beaches, runs straight after. Our calendar prices the peak spring break fortnight and Easter separately, with minimum stays of four to five nights at the moment. The live rates below show both.
Spring break with kids
For families, spring break in Cabo is mostly about warm, dry weather and whales still in the bay. The crowds are concentrated in the middle of Médano, around the big beach clubs, and downtown at night. At the marina end, mornings on the sand and afternoons at the private pool are calm. Plan boat trips for the morning, book restaurant tables early, and see Cabo with kids for ideas.

Spring break for adult groups
Adult groups come for the beach clubs and nightlife, and Villa 1 is a walk from both. The trade-off is the resort: Hacienda Beach Club is residential, parties at the villa need our written approval, day visitors need approval, and noise rules apply at night. The booking guest must be 25 or older. If that works for your crew, see the bachelor party villa page and our nightlife guide.
Book early: what sells out
During spring break the bottlenecks are predictable:
- Villas and hotel rooms, often months ahead.
- Private boats and sunset sails; reserve a yacht charter before you fly.
- Beach club daybeds on weekends.
- Airport transfers on Saturdays.
- Private chefs; see villa with a private chef.
What spring break weather is like
March is one of Cabo's best months for weather: sunny, dry, warm afternoons and cooler evenings. The sea is still on the cool side for some swimmers, which is why the hot tub gets plenty of use. Humpback whales are usually still around in March, so a morning whale watching trip fits nicely before the beach gets busy. See weather by month.
Staying safe during spring break
Drinking on public streets and bringing your own alcohol to the public beach aren't allowed, and police enforce it more during spring break. Stay inside the roped swim zones on Médano, away from jet skis, and never swim after drinking or after dark. Use licensed taxis or Uber at night. More in our guide to Cabo for groups.
Semana Santa: the Mexican holiday week
Semana Santa (Holy Week) is when Mexican families head to the beach, and in 2027 it runs from Palm Sunday, March 21, to Easter Sunday, March 28. Médano fills with families, the atmosphere is festive and very different from US spring break, and restaurants and boats are busy all week. The Monday after Easter starts Pascua week, which is also a school holiday in Mexico. See Semana Santa in Cabo and spring break in Cabo for details.
If you want warm weather without either crowd, the second half of April is a good compromise: whales may still be around early in the month, the water is warming, and rates drop after Easter.
