El Squid Roe has been open on Boulevard Lázaro Cárdenas since 1989 and is probably the single most famous party venue in Cabo San Lucas. The building rises three floors above the boulevard, and on busy nights the club says it can hold around 2,000 people between seated and standing areas. Expect loud music, a crowd that dances wherever there is space, and a steady stream of birthday, bachelor and bachelorette groups.
It is not only a nightclub. The kitchen opens at 10 AM with breakfast until 2 PM and serves until 10 PM, with a menu that covers tacos, ceviche, burgers, steaks and fresh catch of the day. Drinks are two-for-one every day until 5 PM, which makes an afternoon visit a much cheaper and calmer way to see the place. After 10 PM the venue is 18 and over, and the bar runs until 3 AM.
The walk from Hacienda Beach Club takes about 10 minutes: head up to Lázaro Cárdenas past Puerto Paraíso mall and the club is on the boulevard just beyond it. For the return trip late at night, a taxi is the easier option. Groups who want a guaranteed booth can reserve bottle service online with a deposit, with the balance payable on arrival in cash or by Visa or Mastercard. Go after 11 PM for the full club atmosphere, or mid-afternoon for food and cheap drinks.
