Benno at Hotel San Cristóbal

Benno is the restaurant at Hotel San Cristóbal, the Bunkhouse hotel on Punta Lobos beach just south of Todos Santos, and it's the best place on this coast to watch the sun go down with a proper dinner in front of you. Tables sit indoors and out, looking over the pool to the Pacific. The MICHELIN Guide selected it. It serves breakfast from 7 AM to 10:30 AM and dinner from 5 PM to 10 PM every day, with the bar open until 10:30 PM.

Mexican meets Mediterranean here, with vegetables from the hotel's orchard. On the February 2026 dinner menu, share the Crudo Benno, San Ignacio oysters with a green mango mignonette, the charred za'atar octopus and the roasted corn ribs to share. The Moroccan-style catch of the day is the main to get if you eat fish. MICHELIN also mentions pesca en mole verde and churros with dulce de leche. Small plates run roughly MX$390 to MX$470 and mains MX$660 to MX$700.

Time it for sunset. Arrive when the bar opens at 5 PM, get a drink on the terrace and order once the sky starts to change color. The beach in front is Punta Lobos, where the local fishermen launch their pangas; the surf here is strong, so it's a beach for looking at rather than swimming. Book on OpenTable in winter, when sunset tables fill.

The catch is the drive: a little over an hour from Villa 1, and Highway 19 back to Cabo San Lucas in the dark isn't much fun, so our guests who do Benno for dinner usually book a driver, or come for a late breakfast instead and spend the day in Todos Santos. Pets are allowed, and it's calmer and more grown-up than most beach bars, which is the point.
