El Mirador by Guaycura

Grilled wild shrimp and octopus on a cliff above the Pacific, with the best sunset seat in Todos Santos.

Our take

El Mirador: Sunset Over the Pacific

If the view matters more than the name of the chef, pick El Mirador. Hotel Guaycura's restaurant sits on the cliffs south of Todos Santos, looking straight down the Pacific coast. The hotel lists it as open every day from 1 PM to 9 PM, so you can come for a late lunch after walking the town, or time a table for sunset.

Coastal and Mediterranean is the style. The 2026 menu's best bets are the grilled wild shrimp a la talla (priced by the piece, two, four or six), grilled octopus over a Mixe-style pipián, and the roasted duck risotto. Lamb ossobuco and a surf and turf are there for the meat eaters, and the churros make a good shared dessert. Mains mostly run MX$600 to MX$700, with the surf and turf at MX$1,450.

Guaycura runs two other food spots worth knowing: La Terraza, the rooftop pool bar on the hotel in the center of town, and El Faro Beach Club by the lighthouse, with an infinity pool and a day pass. The group closes some outlets in the slow season (the rooftop, for example, posts a closure from September 7 to October 15), and its site also carries generic reopening banners, so message or call before you drive up in September or October.

Make it the last stop of a Todos Santos day (the town is about an hour and 10 minutes from Villa 1): lunch in town at Oystera, galleries in the afternoon, then drinks here for sunset. Remember that sunset in winter is around 5:45 PM, and the drive home after dark on Highway 19 needs care, so a driver is the relaxed option.
