Jazz on the Rocks

Every night there's a live jazz concert on the rocks at Sunset Point, in Misiones del Cabo, at kilometer 6.5 of the highway toward San José, just past the Cabo Bello neighborhood. That's Jazz on the Rocks, a 15-minute taxi from Villa 1. The terrace looks back west across the water toward Land's End, which is why people come at sunset.

The timing matters. The restaurant opens at 5 PM (the site invites guests from 4 PM for the view), the band starts after sunset, around 7 PM, and plays until about 9:15 PM. So book for 6 PM, have a drink at golden hour and be seated with food by the time the music starts. Reservations are through the website, email or OpenTable, and the dress code is smart casual.

The food is Italian at heart. September 2026 reviewers ordered short rib pappardelle, truffle fettuccine, lobster tortellini, Margherita and truffle pizzas, sea bass, scallops, steak tartare, a roasted cauliflower starter, a meat board and a hazelnut mousse. The recurring criticism is portion size compared with price; nobody leaves hungry, but it's not a bargain. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are marked.

Couples, anniversaries and anyone who likes music with dinner will be happiest here. It's less of a family place after dark, though nothing stops you bringing older kids. If you're staying on Médano, it's a good way to see the coast east of town without committing to a long corridor drive. Valet parking is available if you drive, but a taxi is easier if you plan to have a glass of wine. Sunset Monalisa is on the same stretch of coast if you enjoy the drive and want a second sunset dinner out this way on another night.
