Los Claros: Baja Fish Tacos the Local Way
Los Claros is a small local chain of seafood taquerías, and its in-town Cabo San Lucas branch on Calle Ignacio Zaragoza is the one locals point to. It is a few blocks inland from the marina, far enough from the waterfront that most of the customers are residents on a lunch break rather than cruise passengers.
The menu is built around Baja seafood: battered fish and shrimp tacos, marlin, scallops, shrimp cocktails and ceviche, including a mixed ceviche with shrimp, scallops and octopus that reviewers single out. Tacos are made to order and priced at a few dollars each, and a self-serve salsa and toppings bar lets you finish them how you like.
Allow about 15 minutes on foot from Hacienda Beach Club (up to Lázaro Cárdenas, then a few blocks west and inland) or take a short taxi ride. Go at lunchtime, when everything is freshest and the room is busiest. Los Claros also runs a separate marina-front branch at Plaza de la Danza on Paseo de la Marina if you would rather eat by the boats.
