Torote Restaurant

Torote Restaurant sits in the Valle del Sol development in Altos del Tezal, in the hills above Cabo San Lucas. It is a deliberate step away from the beach: the dining room and terraces look out over the desert and mountains, and the design is meant to sit quietly in the landscape. Valle del Sol applies a farm-to-table idea to the whole community, and the restaurant is its public face.

Chef Víctor Garrido's kitchen focuses on the local flavours of Baja with a Mediterranean twist, blending traditional Mexican and international cooking. Torote was named Best New Restaurant, Southern Baja 2024, by the Culinary Awards. The team accommodates dietary restrictions, including vegan modifications, and the setting suits a romantic dinner or a special-occasion meal with a view. Torote is a taxi or Uber ride from Villa 1, roughly 15 to 20 minutes up into El Tezal depending on traffic. Because it is remote, the restaurant suggests carrying cash for the ride back and arranging return transport in advance. Reserve through OpenTable or by phone; walk-ins are welcome. Go before sunset if you want to see the view in daylight.
