Option 1: Pacific-coast ride at Tierra Sagrada
Cabo Adventures runs its camel tours from Tierra Sagrada, its ranch on the Pacific side about 40 km north of Cabo San Lucas, toward Cerritos and Todos Santos. The ranch keeps a herd of more than 50 dromedary and Bactrian camels. The main "Outback & Cabo Camel Ride" lasts about three hours: a ride through desert scrub toward the ocean, a short guided nature walk, time with the camels on the ground, then a Mexican buffet with beer, a tequila and mezcal tasting, and a tortilla-making demonstration.
The same ranch sells combinations that pair the camel ride with ATVs, a UTV off-road drive or an electric-bike tour. If you mainly want to drive, compare these with our ATV tours page.
Option 2: Canyon ride at Wild Canyon
Wild Canyon Adventures, the adventure park at Km 19.5 on the corridor, runs a gentler, shorter ride through its own canyon, not along the beach. You meet the herd, ride on a saddle that holds up to two people, then pet and feed the camels. The ticket also covers a visit to the park's animal area, lunch and use of the park's soft activities. It's a good choice if you want to add ziplines or other activities the same day; see our Wild Canyon page.
Prices and what's included
Both operators discount heavily online, so the list price is rarely what people pay. At the time of writing, Cabo Adventures lists the Outback & Cabo Camel Ride at US$129, with online offers around US$90. There's also a Tierra Sagrada entrance fee of US$25 per adult and US$12.50 per child, paid at check-in. Resellers quote about US$119 for adults and US$89 for children.
Wild Canyon lists its camel ride at US$142, with online offers around US$99. Transport is extra, and there's a separate park entrance fee of about US$22 to US$25 per person. Check exactly what's included (transport, lunch, fees) before comparing prices.
- Tierra Sagrada (Cabo Adventures): about 3 hours; shuttle from Cabo hotels or meet at the marina office
- Wild Canyon: half-day visit; transport optional add-on
- Both: lunch included; entrance/park fee extra
Ages, limits and what to wear
Cabo Adventures sets a minimum age of 5 for the ranch camel ride (8 for the ATV and UTV combos) and a maximum rider weight of 265 lb (120 kg). At Wild Canyon, small children ride with an adult, and a camel carries up to 220 lb (100 kg) in total. Neither is recommended during pregnancy or for back problems. Ask the operator if that applies to you.
Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, bring sunscreen and a hat, and add a light layer in winter, when the Pacific coast can be breezy in the late afternoon. Bring cash for the entrance fee, photos and tips.
Getting there from Villa 1
Both operators offer round-trip transport. Cabo Adventures' shuttle serves most hotels. Guests at private villas meet at its office on Paseo de la Marina, about a 20-minute walk or short golf-cart ride from Hacienda Beach Club, and the drive to the ranch takes about 45 minutes. Wild Canyon is about 25 minutes east of the villa by car. Book at least a day ahead; our concierge can reserve either tour and arrange transport.
