Pacific coast, north of Cabo

Playa Migriño

Migriño is a long, empty Pacific beach near the mouth of the Migriño arroyo, about half an hour up Highway 19 from Cabo San Lucas. Go for the surf or the sunset; you'll likely have the sand to yourself.

What to expect

Migriño has a point and a beach break that suit intermediate surfers on the right swell, and a lot of empty sand either side. There's nothing here: no lifeguards, restrooms or food. It's not a swimming beach; the Pacific surf and currents are serious.

It's the closest quiet Pacific beach to Cabo San Lucas, which makes it a good sunset drive. For surf lessons, continue north to Cerritos.

Getting to Playa Migriño from Villa 1

About 30 km from Villa 1: north on Highway 19 toward Todos Santos, then a sandy track down to the beach near the river mouth. Soft sand makes a higher-clearance car the better choice.
