Bar Esquina

Bar Esquina is the main restaurant of Bahia Hotel & Beach House, a boutique hotel on Avenida del Pescador in the El Médano neighborhood, just back from the sand. It is open to outside guests as well as hotel residents, and it works as a neighborhood hangout as much as a hotel dining room: locals come for dinner and drinks, and the room gets noticeably livelier in the evening.

The kitchen, led by executive chef Mariano Takinami, describes its cooking as Baja-Mediterranean: local seafood, Baja produce and dishes from a wood-fired oven, including pizzas and ceviches. The wine program is the real draw for many regulars. The list runs to more than 250 labels, chosen by the hotel's sommelier, and the restaurant holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2026, its third year in a row. Cocktails, craft beer and zero-proof drinks are also on the menu.

Bar Esquina serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, and its coffee counter pours espresso drinks, smoothies and juices with pastries from 7 AM to 2 PM. Live music plays seven days a week, with the lineup changing by day and time. From Villa 1, walk north along Médano Beach and then a couple of short blocks inland to Avenida del Pescador; it takes under 10 minutes. Book on OpenTable for dinner, especially if you want to catch the music, and ask about the private-event space if you are planning a group meal (the restaurant hosts up to 90 guests).
