La Roca: Dinner Where Cabo Meets the Pacific
Tucked against the granite of Land's End on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, La Roca is the signature restaurant of Grand Solmar Land's End Resort. It's only about a kilometer from Villa 1 as the crow flies, but by road it's a 10 to 15 minute taxi through downtown and along Avenida Solmar. The reward is one of the most dramatic settings in town: open ocean, big waves, and the rocks lit up at night.
Service is twice a day: breakfast from 7 AM to noon and dinner from 5 to 10 PM. Reviewers from July to September 2026 order beef tenderloin, scallops, clams, short ribs, wagyu, salmon and red snapper at dinner, and rave about the house bread and the tres leches. The bar staff put on a show with flaming tequila drinks, and on some summer nights there's an electric violinist.
It's fine dining in price and service: staff are named again and again in reviews, and several guests with dietary restrictions said the kitchen went out of its way for them. The only grumble we found was about paying for the sweet bread basket. Book ahead, especially for a sunset dinner; Solmar's reservations team handles bookings by phone, and there's an OpenTable listing too. Valet parking is available.
La Roca is worth it for a special dinner, and breakfast is a clever way to see the setting for less. Don't swim at the beach in front; the Pacific side has strong currents and the resort beaches here are for looking, not swimming. Pair it with a sunset walk on the sand in front of the resort before dinner, then taxi back to the calm water of Médano.
