Mi Cocina is the restaurant of Casa Natalia, an 18-room boutique hotel on Boulevard Mijares in the historic center of San José del Cabo, a short walk from the main plaza and the gallery district. It opened with the hotel in 1999, and tables are set on an open-air terrace among tall palms, waterfalls and fire braziers. The restaurant is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Chef Genadis keeps a few long-standing classics on the menu next to Mexican specialties and fresh seafood, mostly from local, organic sources. Daily specials and a tasting menu round it out. In season, look for the Baja Oyster Bar pop-up: oysters from Sol Azul Seafarms in the Vizcaíno lagoons, Thursday to Sunday, 2 PM to 10 PM, reservation required. Over at the Palapa Bar, happy hour starts at noon every day; order the hibiscus martini. Well-behaved dogs can come along.
