The route
The paddle runs along the edge of Cabo San Lucas Bay toward Land's End, past the rock formations and the sea lion colony, and finishes at the Arch itself, with a stop to snorkel in the calm water on the bay side. Depending on conditions and the guide's call, groups may land at Lover's Beach. The distance is modest, but you are paddling into open water where boat wakes and wind add up, which is why the guide matters.
Land's End is a federal protected area, and visitors who land need the CONANP wristband (published at MXN 125 per person per day, children under 12 exempt). Ask when booking whether it is included.
Tour details and price
Baja Outback lists The Arch Kayak at USD 74 per person and The Arch SUP at USD 78, both checked on September 29, 2026. Tours run year-round on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, start at 9 a.m. and last about four hours including transport. The price includes round-trip transportation, a bilingual guide, kayak or board and gear, snorkel equipment, water and snacks. Tips for the guide are extra.
Choose the kayak if you're newer to paddling or bringing children; a double kayak is stable and forgiving. The SUP is more fun for confident paddlers but harder work in chop, and falling in near the rocks is no joke.
Renting versus a guided tour
The alternative is a rental straight off the sand in front of Villa 1, at roughly USD 15 to 25 an hour (see our Médano Beach water sports page). That works well for a paddle along the beach on a calm morning. For the run to the Arch we'd go guided unless you are experienced: you must cross the busy harbor mouth, where fishing boats, cruise tenders and water taxis come and go, and conditions can change within an hour.
When to go and what to bring
The morning start is deliberate: the bay is usually calmest before late-morning wind. Winter brings humpback whales into the area, which is a thrill from a kayak, though paddlers must keep their distance and guides will change course if needed. If you'd rather just look from a boat, a Land's End boat tour takes an hour.
Bring a swimsuit, rash guard, hat, sunglasses with a strap, reef-safe sunscreen, a towel and a dry bag for your phone. Leave valuables in the villa. Our concierge can book the tour for your dates at Villa 1 and check on pickup from Hacienda Beach Club.
