What Palmilla is like
Palmilla is one of the oldest resort addresses in Los Cabos: the original Hotel Palmilla dates back to the 1950s and is now One&Only Palmilla. Around it are gated homes and the Palmilla Golf Club, Jack Nicklaus's first course in Latin America.
Playa Palmilla is tucked behind a point that blocks much of the swell, so it's one of the few beaches near San José where swimming is normal. It has a public access with local fishing pangas pulled up on the sand.
Eating nearby
Outside the resort there isn't much in Palmilla itself. Most people head ten minutes east into San José del Cabo for dinner, or to Flora Farms and Acre in the foothills.
Getting to Palmilla from Villa 1
About 28 km east of Villa 1 on Highway 1, 30 to 35 minutes by car or taxi. The public beach is reached from the highway side road near the One&Only; the residential area and golf club are gated.
