Tacos Lalo's

When visitors ask Cabo residents for a breakfast that isn't aimed at tourists, this is the kind of place they name. Tacos Lalo's is small and family-run, in Plaza San Basilio at the corner of Calle 16 de Septiembre and Revolución, in the neighborhoods above the marina. From Villa 1 it's about a 15-minute walk inland or a five-minute taxi.

Despite the name, breakfast is the main event. Reviewers in August and September 2026 order red and green chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, huevos Escamilla, a Mexican omelet and arrachera (skirt steak) Jalisco-style. The drinks get as much praise as the food: fresh juices, smoothies such as mango-orange and blackberry, pineapple agua fresca and coffee with cinnamon.

Portions are generous and prices are local, which is exactly why people come back. It opens at 8 AM on weekdays (8:30 AM on weekends) and closes mid-afternoon, around 5 PM on weekdays and 4 PM at weekends. Service is friendly and personal; one server, Lupita, gets named in several reviews. There's outdoor seating, takeout and delivery.

Don't expect a view or a cocktail list. It's a simple room, and it's worth it for the food and the prices. If you're heading out on a fishing charter or a boat trip, grab breakfast here first or order takeout for the villa. Delivery helps after a big night, too. If you eat in, take an outdoor table before the midday heat builds, then walk back downhill to the marina. For a more polished downtown breakfast, Mama's Royal Café is a few blocks closer to the water.
