Cuadra San Francisco (Cabo Real)
This family-run equestrian center at km 19.5 of the Transpeninsular Highway, in Cabo Real, is the most established stable in the area and consistently gets strong reviews for the condition of its horses. It offers a one-hour desert ride, a one-hour ride to the quiet beaches of Cabo Real, a two-hour canyon ride and a two-hour mixed hills-and-beach ride, plus riding lessons.
Children from age four can ride, the rider weight limit is 250 lb, and beginners get instruction before heading out. The stable is closed on Sundays, takes cash only, and does not publish prices online, so call or WhatsApp +52 624 191 4777 for current rates and to book, as rides fill up. It is roughly a 25-minute drive east from the villa.
Rancho Carisuva (Pacific beaches)
For a ride on the open Pacific, Rancho Carisuva operates from Playa Migriño, north of Cabo San Lucas on the road toward Todos Santos. Its Pacific tour mixes desert and canyon trails with a long stretch of beach and a lookout point where you can often see whales in winter. The ranch is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Reseller Cabo Villas lists the shared tour from about USD 92 per person, with about 1 hour 10 minutes in the saddle and around four hours door to door including transport, plus a USD 20 park fee paid on site. The minimum age is six, children under eight ride with an adult, and the weight limit is 250 lb. Riders must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
Wild Canyon (desert and canyon)
Wild Canyon, the adventure park at km 19.5 on the Corridor, runs a guided desert-and-canyon ride of 1.5 to 2 hours in the saddle, about four hours in total with lunch, a drink and access to the park's other soft activities. It listed USD 99 online (regular price USD 142) plus a mandatory park entrance fee of USD 22 per person at the time of writing. Riders must weigh between 55 and 250 lb, and children aged 4 to 12 can join. See our Wild Canyon guide for its other activities.
When to ride and what to wear
Book the earliest slot or a late-afternoon ride. From May to October the midday heat is intense, and afternoons on the Pacific can be windy. In winter, Pacific rides sometimes come with whale sightings offshore; our whale watching page explains the season.
Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (sandals are not allowed), sunglasses and sunscreen, and bring a hat that ties on. Leave loose items in the car. Operators such as Rancho Carisuva do not take riders who are pregnant or have back or neck injuries. If you want to add another land adventure, ATV tours and camel rides run in the same desert areas.
