UTV & RZR Tours in Cabo

A UTV (side-by-side, often called a RZR after the Polaris model) seats two to four people with a steering wheel, roll cage and seatbelts. For couples and families it is a better choice than an ATV: one person drives, everyone rides together, and kids as young as five can come along. Most UTV tours in Cabo San Lucas run on the Pacific side around Migriño, through desert washes and onto the beach.

What to know

UTV or ATV?

On an ATV tour everyone drives their own quad, which is more physical and more fun if you are all confident riders. A UTV is easier on backs, safer for children, and lets a nervous passenger just enjoy the dunes. The trade-off is price: you pay per vehicle, so a UTV makes most sense when you fill the seats.

Cactus Tours at Migriño

Cactus Tours operates from its own park at Km 100 on Highway 19, about 30 minutes north of Villa 1. Its standard two-hour Side by Side Adventure was listed at USD 205 for one person, USD 290 for two, USD 350 for three and USD 405 for four, plus a USD 25 per person park entry. The route mixes desert trails with the beach and dunes. For more power, the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo tour costs USD 300 to 500 per vehicle for the same two hours. There is also a Mini RZR for children.

Departures are at 9 AM, 10 AM, noon, 1 PM, 3 PM and 4 PM, with extra slots in season. Round-trip transport, helmets and goggles, a guide, water and a tequila tasting are included. Drivers must be at least 16 and pass a quick fit test; under-18s need an adult to sign the waiver. Passengers must be 5 or older and at least 1.20 m tall. Prices checked September 2026.

Other options

Cabo Adventures runs a three-hour UTV tour at its Tierra Sagrada ranch, about 45 minutes north of Cabo, with Polaris vehicles for up to four people, a Mexican buffet lunch and beer afterward. Drivers there must be 18 with a license, passengers 8. Budget for a US$25 entrance per adult and a mandatory US$45 damage fee per vehicle on top of the ticket. Wild Canyon, on the Corridor, has a UTV route that crosses its hanging bridge, from about US$172.

Tips from our guests

You will get dusty, and on the beach sections, sandy. Wear closed-toe shoes, long light pants and sunglasses, and bring a bandana for your face (most operators hand out goggles and helmets). Phones and cameras are usually not allowed in hand while driving, so buy the photo package or bring a helmet-mounted camera if the operator allows it.

Book a morning slot from May to October; afternoon heat on the dunes is intense. Winter afternoons are pleasant and the 3 PM departure catches good light on the Pacific. Do not drink before you drive. If you want a full day on the Pacific side, add a camel ride or the Sky Bike zipline at the same stretch of coast.
