What to expect
This is a small winter-season market at The Shoppes at Palmilla, a shopping center on the Tourist Corridor at Km 27.5. Expect local produce, baked goods, prepared food and some crafts from vendors around the Cape. Being on the corridor, it draws a mix of residents and visitors from the nearby resorts.
It's a handy stop on a Friday morning if you are driving the corridor anyway, for example on the way to San José or back from the airport. For a full market morning, the Saturday organic market in San José del Cabo has more of a local feel.
Winter is the best time to be on this stretch of coast: dry, sunny days and cool mornings, and from mid December the humpbacks are offshore. If you're coming in season, our whale watching guide explains how to see them from a boat or from the beach. A Friday market run followed by an afternoon on the sand at Médano is a very easy villa day.
Season and timing
The published pattern is every Friday from the first Friday of November through the last Friday of April, 9 AM to 1 PM. For 2026 to 2027 that would mean November 6 to April 30, but the market hasn't separately announced the new season, so confirm before a special trip. There's no market in the hot months.
- Go before 11 AM for the best selection
- Bring pesos in small bills and a shopping bag
- Shade is limited; bring a hat
Getting there from Médano Beach
Palmilla is roughly halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San José on the corridor, about 25 to 30 minutes by car from Hacienda Beach Club. An Uber works well too; see getting around Cabo. If you're stocking the villa kitchen for a private chef dinner, this is an easy place to pick up extras. For lunch afterward, Acre is up the road in San José's countryside.
