What Gipsy Nights is
El Ganzo has built its identity around music: it runs a musicians-in-residence program and a calendar of weekly and monthly happenings. Gipsy Nights brings flamenco to the hotel through the fall, with the group Alebrije Flamenco. Expect guitar, song and dance in an intimate setting, not a big stage show.
The Los Cabos tourism board lists the series from October 14 to December 9, 2026. Both dates are Wednesdays, which suggests a weekly Wednesday night, but the hotel hadn't posted times, prices or a reservation link when we checked, so confirm directly with El Ganzo before you go.
La Playita itself is worth the trip: it's a small beach neighborhood at the east end of San José, next to the Puerto Los Cabos marina, and much calmer after dark than downtown Cabo.
Who goes
Couples and small groups after a quieter, grown-up night out, and anyone who has had enough of the downtown Cabo bar scene. It also pairs well with the Los Cabos Film Festival in December, which uses El Ganzo as one of its venues.
If flamenco isn't your thing, the rest of the fall calendar in San José is quieter than Cabo San Lucas, and that's the appeal. Our Cabo San Lucas vs San José del Cabo guide lays out the difference. For a late dinner in the old town before or after a show, Mi Cocina at Casa Natalia is on the plaza.
Tips
- Reserve ahead; El Ganzo is a small hotel and seating is limited
- Plan dinner at the hotel or nearby in La Playita before the show
- Evenings by the water can be breezy in late fall; bring a light layer
Getting to La Playita
El Ganzo is at La Playita, next to the Puerto Los Cabos marina, just east of downtown San José del Cabo and about 22 miles from Hacienda Beach Club. Allow 35 to 45 minutes by car. A driver or Uber is the easy option for a late night; our getting around Cabo guide covers costs. On a Thursday you could combine a stay in San José with the Art Walk, but this series runs midweek.
